Data You Give Us Directly
Information entered into a search form, such as a name, phone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. El Paso County Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. A message sent to the contact address contains whatever details the sender chooses to include, and those details are used to answer the message.
Data We Gather Automatically
Hosting systems may record ordinary server-log data, including IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. Aggregate review can help maintain the pages and understand which local-record resources are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where present, advertising measurement. The operator does not use those logs to create a private El Paso County resident profile.
How We Use Limited Data
Contact messages are used to respond, investigate a technical problem, or correct a page link. Aggregate traffic information is used to maintain performance and content. Search entries are handled by the third-party result provider described with the search function. El Paso County public records, voter files, court files, vital records, and library materials remain under the control of their own custodians.
Links to Outside Websites
Pages link to the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder, Assessor, Elections, Public Health, courts, Colorado agencies, PPLD, CSPM, USPS, Census, and other resources. When a link is followed, the outside service may collect information under its own privacy policy and terms. Review that service’s notice before submitting a name, address, identification, payment, or request.
Who May Receive Information
Hosting providers, analytics services, advertising-measurement partners, and the third-party search provider may process the limited information described above. A contact message may be shared with a service provider when needed to operate the mailbox or resolve abuse. No promise is made that an outside custodian will treat a public-record request as private; the receiving office’s rules control.
How Basic Data Is Protected
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used for the small amount of information associated with hosting and contact. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed secure. Do not send a Social Security number, full birthday, signature, protected address, payment credential, or other unnecessary sensitive material in a general message.
Users Under 18
The pages are not directed to children under 13, and no account is created for a child. If a parent or guardian believes that a child supplied personal information through the contact route, use the contact address to request review. The request should include enough detail to locate the message without sending new sensitive information.
Your Data Rights and Colorado Records
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, a person may have rights to ask what personal information a private service keeps, request correction, request deletion, or opt out of certain processing. The Colorado Attorney General’s Colorado Privacy Act resource explains rights and thresholds. Requests about this reference can be sent through the Contact page.
Those rights do not control records held by El Paso County, Colorado Springs, Colorado agencies, courts, or libraries. The Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-201 to 206, governs public-record access and exemptions; a correction or removal request for a government record belongs with its custodian. Vital records, confidential voter records, court restrictions, and the Colorado Address Confidentiality Program have their own rules.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change when the reference, search provider, hosting arrangement, or applicable Colorado requirements change. The revised version takes effect when posted. Check the date or current wording before sending information, and contact the operator if a provision is unclear.
